We are thrilled to announce that Laura Simmons, the founder of Theratrak, has been selected as one of the prestigious Kenneth Myer Innovation Fellows for 2023.
Being chosen as one of only three fellows is a great honour for Laura, who joins a distinguished group of 30 game-changing Sidney Myer Fund and The Myer Foundation Fellows since the initiative's inception in 2014.
Laura's dedication to creating unique and scalable impact with Theratrak, and her commitment to changing the lives of hundreds of therapists and participants in therapy, played a significant role in her selection as a Fellow. She has been recognised as an experienced and entrepreneurial leader, passionate about solving the problem of increasing engagement and outcomes in therapy.
The selection process was rigorous, and the Co-Convenors Edwina Myer and Jonno Lindsay noted that the Fellowships offer recipients a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to throw their heart and mind into a project that could very well change Australia.
Acknowledged alongside dedicated entrepreneurs
Laura is already benefiting from this opportunity, with access to resources, mentorship, and impressive business leaders. She is humbled to be acknowledged alongside the recipients Emma Cutting and fellow Occupational Therapist Rebecca Scott, as well as previous recipients of the Fellowship, including another OT turned tech founder Jordan O'Reilly who created HireUp, which connects Australians with disability with support workers.
We extend a huge thank you to Trustees of the Sidney Myer Fund for selecting Laura as a Fellow in 2023 from the pool of impressive applicants.
Laura shared her big vision for Theratrak and how it's transforming the therapy industry, and we can't wait to see the positive impact she will make as a Kenneth Myer Innovation Fellow.
Theratrak Founder Laura Simmons comments on the Fellowship:
“I am incredibly grateful to be named as one of the Kenneth Myer Innovation Fellows for 2023. It’s an honour to be acknowledged for my existing work while I look to the future and take Theratrak to the next level.
It’s amazing to be named alongside the previous Fellows and to witness the big changes they’ve been able to create in the world because of this opportunity.
I’m excited to make a bigger difference in the lives of people in the allied health industry and those people receiving therapy.
I’ve got big plans for Theratrak this year and I’m honoured to be a part of such a distinguished group of changemakers.”
