Theratrak's 5 Most Popular Features for Therapists

Theratrak has been revolutionising home therapy management by providing digital tools that streamline clinic workflows and enhance participant engagement.

Over the years, we’ve listened to the needs of clinicians and participants - codesigning the platform alongside our everyday users. We’ve continuously improved our platform to meet the evolving demands of the allied health community and our participants in therapy.

In this blog, we highlight five of Theratrak’s most celebrated features which aim to support clinics and participants achieve better outcomes in home therapy.

1. Preloaded Activities – Choose from our library or add your own

One of the most enjoyed features of Theratrak is its extensive library of preloaded activities, offering more than 500 activities for participants to complete at home which therapists can tailor further or prescribe in home programs. Over 200 speech therapy activities were added in 2024 with more allied health disciplines on the way.

Theratrak also allows clinics to upload their own activities to ensure consistency across the team.

"There’s nothing else on the market that fits our needs as a multidisciplinary clinic."

- Melinda Webber, Clinical Director at South West Kids Clinic

2. Customisable Content – Personalise activities from sessions with participants

Theratrak provides the flexibility to create and upload custom activities, including photos and videos, during individual therapy sessions.

This personalised approach ensures that each home therapy program is aligned with the unique needs of the participant, increasing the likelihood of program completion and skill development.

Lots of participants, and especially kids, really love seeing themselves in their therapy activities. Customising content helps participants feel more connected to their therapy, as they see that the activities are tailored to their specific goals and abilities. It makes therapy less about completing tasks - and more about understanding the participant’s motivations and creating a program that inspires them to take ownership of their progress.

3. Custom Notifications – Timely reminders to keep participants on track

Staying consistent with home therapy can be challenging for participants, which is why Theratrak’s custom notifications are such a game-changer. These personalised reminders can be set at times that suit the participant's schedule, providing gentle nudges to keep them on track with their therapy.

Whether it's a morning routine reminder or a midday prompt, notifications are easily configured within Theratrak to support continuous progress.

Therapists can also celebrate milestones with custom messages, reinforcing a sense of achievement and keeping participants motivated to reach their next goal.

4. Journal Feature – Continuous feedback for better outcomes

The option journal feature allows for real-time, asynchronous communication between therapists and participants. Participants can share updates, progress, and challenges outside of scheduled sessions - which then enables therapists to provide timely feedback and make adjustments as needed.

This feature fosters collaboration between therapists, participants, and caregivers, ensuring that everyone stays aligned on the therapy journey. This communication is all done within the app which helps to reduce admin and communication burdens for the clinical team.

"Theratrak has made communication with parents easier and allowed them to be more on board with their child’s goals and progress."

- Chloe Clark, an Occupational Therapist.

5. Gamification – Making therapy fun and engaging

One of Theratrak’s most innovative updates was the introduction of gamification in 2022. Within the free Theratrak participant app, we added features like badges, progress tracking, and our first beloved Theramate cheerleader character - Kelly the Koala.

These gamification elements have helped to transform the therapy experience into something fun and rewarding. We’ve had lots of feedback from clinicians and parents that kids find themselves excited and motivated to engage with their home programs via Theratrak - they can see their progress and earn rewards for their hard work.

By turning therapy into a game, we help participants - especially younger ones - stay engaged and motivated, which can lead to better outcomes.
