Quote from Laura Simmons on the podcast:
Over the last 12 months we looked at what our participant app was doing and said, we can do better than this!
We can do better than just sending your activities and getting you to tick them off when you’ve completed them, because that’s not fun.
We want to do things that are fun in our lives.
So we looked at all the other educational games and even some of the games that kids are playing. And we asked what keeps them engaged? It’s not an external motivator. And we know in therapy that intrinsic motivation is the strongest way to behavior change.
And so I looked at all these different games and platforms - and now we’ve sort of created our own unique, innovative way of gamifying Theratrak.
Theratrak now has a reward system for both engagement and skills.
Episode Description
Episode 4 of Allied Health Podcast is brought to you by Theratrak, a digital therapy platform aiming to empower clinicians with the right digital tools to provide the best possible early intervention to children living with disabilities. Theratrak allows therapists to capture and digitise information in therapy sessions then use this data to prescribe, monitor and track their client's therapy home programs.
Theratrak’s Founder, Laura Simmons, is an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist who has worked across Sydney in the private health sector for 10 years. During this time she noticed a distinct lack of innovative technology solutions targeting the ongoing care of clients outside of direct therapy and how this is impacting the client’s overall treatment. Laura is passionate about digital health transformation.
